In the beginning of 2019 I never anticipated that I would be able to go full-time with my business so soon. I had envisioned it happening towards the end of 2019, or maybe even the beginning of 2020. I tend to enjoy envisioning what the future would be like, and what actionable steps that I can take towards those hopes and dreams.

I had NO idea that I would be able to accomplish all of the things that I have over the course of this past year. I am both proud and impressed by the way we, as humans, can adapt, grow, learn, and progress.

Here is the progression of my journey over the course of this past year

1st Quarter

During the months of January through March, I felt like I was just barely getting by. I was working my 9 to 5 job and was VERY unhappy. I didn’t want to publicly admit this, however now I have enough space and time away from my previous job to admit, I was counting down the days until I could go into business for myself. The situation wasn’t sustainable. My workplace was going through a merger, the accounting department would be moving to Orange County in the Summer, and who knows if I would even have a job after June. During that time I knew that I would be bringing on 2 new clients that would take up a good portion of my time. I felt like the time to jump was now. I took the leap, gave my notice and haven’t looked back!

During this first quarter of 2019, I had decided to join a mastermind group. Let me tell you, that was one of the best decisions I made in 2019.  The mastermind group was led by Paige Griffith, a lawyer who goes by The Legal Paige, . She  walked us through on how to build our online businesses, creating content and project timelines to help us focus/re-focus on the direction of our online businesses, in addition to all of the legal things. Not only was I stretched about my online business, but I was also able to make some really great online friendships, that I am still proud to call my friends today. Some of the ladies that were part of the mastermind group were also some of the most influential people to my business in 2019, but more about that later.

2nd Quarter

April was the month! I went full-time with my business during the month of April. As I said before it was a huge leap of faith. I went from having a side business, to having a full-time online bookkeeping business. In the month of May I was able to attend a virtual online seminar to become a Quickbooks Certified ProAdvisor.  Which I would highly recommend anyone to do if they are looking to become an online bookkeeper. There's nothing like validating your genius by having a Quickbooks Certified ProAdvisor by your name. Lastly, during the month of June I decided to bring on several new team members. I am so glad I decided to do this because not only did they have the ability to support me in my business but they also helped propel my business forward allowing me to focus on my client work as my number one priority.

3rd Quarter

During the 3rd quarter I not only launched my new website but I also started a brand spanking new YouTube Channel, AND I was on my very first podcast. This was largely due to the fact that I had a new team by my side, because there is no way that I would have learned how to create a new website and how to do a YouTube channel all on my own. I am forever indebted to these individuals, and so excited about what the future has in store for my website and YouTube channel.

4th Quarter

At the beginning of the 4th quarter I held my very first official Instagram giveaway, which I felt was a success. During the month of November, I launched my online consulting business as well as my online budgeting course called Know Your Budget, which was actually a year in the making. This was a labor of love, as I started creating this course towards the end of 2018.

As I look towards a new year, a new decade(!!), I have started to create goals to the tune of doubling my revenue in 2020 as well as Looking ahead to the future not only did I decide to set a goal of making a $100000 in what here.

What would I say are some of my greatest accomplishments this year?

I believe my greatest accomplishment this year is the fact that I was able to go full-time with this business. Obviously none of us can see directly into the future and know what it holds for us, but I have been focused on ensuring this business grows, and continue to have really big plans for it in 2020.

What are some things I have learned about myself during this process?

As I said in the beginning, I feel like we all have exactly what we need in order to accomplish our goals. I learned that within myself, I have the ability to set some really big scary audacious goals and have everything within myself to accomplish them. I want this to be a reminder for everyone as well, because here’s the deal: I never thought I would be here at this point in my life. I believe you can do the same, if you set some really big scary audacious goals you too can accomplish those goals.
